School Dress Code

There are many reasons why students should wear uniforms at school. If uniforms are worn in school, it would make the student population less worried about their appearance and students who are less fortunate will not have to try to buy the same clothing brands as students who have the money to do so.
In order for students to focus in a school environment, they need minimal distractions. If they don’t have to focus on what they are going to wear, it allows them the opportunity to concentrate on their education. Additionally, students will then give a respectable impression of themselves instead of portraying themselves as something they are not. For instance, females sometimes show too much skin by wearing little clothing. This, of course, gives the impression that the girl does not value herself and probably concentrates more on impressing others than doing well in school. There many teens out there who hate to wear uniforms, but it is for their benefit. For example, some students dress inappropriate for school and sometimes others might find it impolite.
Uniforms will also allow students to spend much time studying rather then spending their time on shopping. There is no guarantee that a student will become better by wearing a uniform, nevertheless, it would be one less distraction if they do not have to worry about clothes.
Also, school uniforms will save parents’ money because they won’t have to worry about spending a fortune on buying clothing for their children. It is normal for teens nowadays to disagree in wearing uniforms to school because of the brands and styles. Teenagers today now group themselves and worry about who wears what. What a person wears should not be the only thing that identifies them.
“It is good for students to wear uniforms at school because of safety reasons and so that the administration knows who is supposed to be on campus and who is not,” said Ms. Someillan an, English teacher at Piper High. Students should not feel discouraged if they are told to wear uniforms. After all, it is not done to lessen them as people, but to help them in becoming better.
